The Sukiennice in the middle of Rynek Główny is where the trail opens, with St Mary's Basilica on one side of the square. From there it runs out past the Collegium Maius, along the Planty and south towards Wawel Royal Castle. Kraków is played here as a self-guided murder mystery game, with the old town as the ground you cover. The main square and the streets around it are flat, and the only real climb is the ramp up to Wawel, so families with children, groups of friends, couples and colleagues all get through it, and solo play is fine. Four people at most form a team on one phone, while larger groups arrive as several teams. The centre fills up in the middle of the day, and since there is no guide and no fixed start you can simply go earlier or later. How to play. Between the Kraków Barbican and the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre the story comes apart, and every puzzle solved takes another suspect out of the running.
