Visitors will find red-stained pictographs etched into a 3-foot limestone ledge, resembling a partially formed cave entrance. These inscriptions are believed to be the work of the Arawak Indians, who inhabited Bonaire centuries ago. The symbols and designs are thought to date back to at least the 15th century, possibly even earlier. The site is located on Bonaire’s rugged east coast, where dramatic waves crash against rocky cliffs.
