The Kerkplein in Hoorn is where the first statement is taken, with the church front on one side and the old town spreading out on the others. The route crosses from there to the Roode Steen, the square where the Westfriesmuseum stands, and carries on past the Bossuhuizen towards the harbour and the Hoofdtoren. It is a detective game played on foot, with the centre of Hoorn standing in for the crime scene. Distances here are short and the ground is flat, which suits families with children, groups of friends, couples and colleagues equally well, and playing solo is a normal way to do it. One ticket is one team of up to four people who share a single phone between them; a larger party buys more tickets and splits up, each team keeping its own score.
