The game starts at the town hall in Harderwijk and heads straight into the old town behind it. The route passes the Catharinakapel, reaches the Vischpoort at the waterfront, and follows the surviving stretch of the old town wall. It is a self-guided detective game, walked rather than guided. It fits families with children, groups of friends, couples and colleagues, and a single player can do the whole thing unaided. Teams are up to four people on one phone, and anyone bringing a bigger group splits it into several teams. Harderwijk is small enough to cross in ten minutes, which keeps teams close together, and with no guide and no fixed start time nobody is waiting for anyone. How to play. Set-up is quick. Codes, photo tasks and interviews with digital characters build the picture, and their versions of events do not all agree. Part of the investigation happens near the Grote Kerk and the Linnaeus toren in Harderwijk, and part in the streets by the Stadsmuseum, until only one explanation survives. More than one team playing turns the game into a competition, which is why it works for teambuilding as well as for an ordinary afternoon out. You can break off for something to eat and go on afterwards, and the case ends where you solve it, somewhere in Harderwijk.
