The case begins on the Promenade du Pin above the old town of Geneva and works its way down through the lanes. The route reaches the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre and the Chapelle des Maccabées beside it, then continues past the Palais de l'Athénée towards the lake. It is a self-guided detective game in which the city serves as the crime scene. The old town sits on a hill, so expect a climb or two, but the distances in Geneva are short and the game suits families with children, groups of friends, couples and colleagues; playing alone is fine as well. A team is up to four people sharing a phone, and larger groups buy a ticket per team and compete. No guide leads the way and there is no fixed start time, so you go when you are ready. How to play. The file you are handed is the murder of Balthasar. You crack codes, complete photo tasks and take statements from digital characters whose accounts do not agree.
