The trail starts on the Münstermarkt in Freiburg, the square that wraps around the Freiburg Minster, and leads out from there into the lanes of the old town. Walking it you come past the Augustiner Museum, cross towards the Schwabentor and follow the narrow water channels set into the kerbs. It is a self-guided murder mystery game in which the old centre becomes the scene of the crime. The centre of Freiburg is compact and mostly flat, which makes it an easy outing for families with children, groups of friends, couples and colleagues, and playing alone is perfectly possible too. A team is up to four people sharing one phone; bigger groups divide into several teams and swap notes when their paths cross.
