Dame Street is where this one begins, at Dublin City Hall beside the gates of Dublin Castle. From there the route runs west to Christ Church Cathedral and on towards St Patrick's Cathedral, then north through the centre to the Spire. The city works as a murder mystery walking tour that you run yourself, without anyone leading the way. It suits families with children, friends, couples and colleagues, and one person can play it alone. A team is up to four people looking at the same phone, so larger groups divide into several teams before the start. The pavements around Trinity College get busy in the afternoon, which is worth planning around, but since there is no guide and no fixed start time you simply move when your own group is ready.
