Jüdenhof in Dresden is the starting point, a small square between the Frauenkirche and Dresden Castle. The route leads from there onto Brühl's Terrace above the river and back down into the streets of the old town. This is a self-guided murder mystery game, walked at whatever speed you set, through the centre of Dresden. Everything in this part of Dresden lies within a few hundred metres and the ground is flat, so the walking between clues is short. Families with children, groups of friends, couples and colleagues all find their way round it, and it holds up as a solo game too. You break codes, take photographs where the game asks, and sift the statements of digital characters who cannot all be telling the truth. The Zwinger and the Semperoper both lie on the trail, and each puzzle solved takes a suspect out of contention. With more than one team out, it becomes a race, which is what makes it a teambuilding option as well as a day out. Stop for a coffee, take the trail up again, and close the case in Dresden whenever it suits.
