The case starts on Stationsplein and moves straight into the old centre of Deventer. On foot you reach the Wilhelminabrug, then the tower of St Lebuïnus Church, and higher up the Bergkerk, or St Nicholas Church, on its own small square. It is a self-guided murder mystery game in which the old streets do the work of a crime scene. The centre is small and flat, which makes for easy going with children, and equally with a group of friends, a couple or a team of colleagues; one person on their own can play it too. A team is at most four people sharing one phone, so larger groups take more tickets and go out separately. Deventer is quiet enough that you can stand in the middle of a street and think, and nothing about the game depends on a guide or on a fixed departure. How to play. The case is the murder of Balthasar. Codes have to be broken, photo tasks completed and digital characters questioned, and their accounts of that night do not fit together. Around the Geert Groote Huis and the Toy Museum the picture begins to sharpen and names start dropping off the list.
