In Corfu the case begins at the Anemomilos Windmill, where the seafront path leaves the bay. The grounds of Mon Repos Palace come early, and the route then runs north into town towards Spianada Square and the Old Fortress of Corfu on its rock above the water. It is a detective game on foot, with each stop carrying a piece of the case. This is a slightly longer stretch of walking than a tight old-town route, since Corfu spreads its landmarks along the shore, and shade is worth planning for in summer. Families with children, groups of friends, couples and colleagues all play the same version, and it works alone too.
