Calvi opens the case at the war memorial on Place du Monument aux Morts, a short walk from the water. The route drops down to the Port de Plaisance and then climbs the streets above the harbour to the Maison natale de Christophe Colomb. It is a murder mystery walking tour on which nobody sets the pace but you, and there is no guided commentary along the way. Calvi is small, and the only real effort is the climb up from the harbour, which is worth taking slowly on a hot day. A team is up to four people sharing one phone, and a bigger group divides into teams that play alongside each other. It works for families with children, for couples, for friends and for colleagues, and one player alone can work the whole case. No guide walks with you and no start time is fixed. How to play. Codes have to come apart, photo tasks have to be completed, and digital characters give statements that only half hold up. The MUDACC and the quays of the Port de Plaisance both figure in the final stretch. With two or more teams playing, Calvi turns into a race between them, which is why this also serves as a teambuilding outing. Stop for lunch by the harbour, take the trail up again, and close the case in Calvi.
