In Bucharest the case begins outside the City Hall and moves north into the streets of the centre. The route passes the Clock of Cismigiu, then heads towards the equestrian statue of Carol I and the Romanian Athenaeum. It is a detective game you play by yourself, on foot, following a trail through Bucharest instead of a guide. Families with children, groups of friends, couples and colleagues all play it, and one person alone gets the same case. Up to four people make a team and share a single phone, while bigger groups buy extra tickets and split into several. The centre of Bucharest is wide and busy, with boulevards to cross and pavements that fill up, so teams tend to regroup at each stop before moving on.
