Place de la Bourse is the meeting point, on the riverfront in Bordeaux with the Palais de la Bourse at your back and the Miroir d'eau in front of it. From the quay the trail turns away from the water into the old town and out to Place Gambetta. It is a self-guided walking tour with a murder to solve, and Bordeaux supplies the setting. The centre of Bordeaux is flat and largely given over to pedestrians, which keeps the walking easy for families with children and for anyone playing at a slow pace. One ticket covers a team of up to four people sharing a phone; a larger group takes several tickets and plays as separate teams. Solo players do fine.
