Auckland Town Hall is where the file is opened, and the first lead sends you across Aotea Square and into the blocks above Queen Street. The route climbs to Albert Park, drops back past the Auckland Art Gallery and keeps the Sky Tower in view for most of the walk. This is a detective game you play yourself, on foot, with the centre of Auckland serving as the crime scene. The city centre here is built on ridges, so expect a few short climbs between the waterfront and the park; nothing that a family with children cannot manage at a slow pace. One ticket covers a team of up to four people working from a single phone, and a bigger party simply buys more tickets and fields several teams. Solo players are fine too.
