Kerkplein in Arnhem sits at the foot of the Eusebius, and that is where the case begins. The route leads from the church to the Duivelshuis, down to the Sabelspoort and out to the John Frostbrug. It is a self-guided murder mystery game covering the centre of Arnhem on foot. The game is aimed at families with children, groups of friends, couples and colleagues, though a single player will get through it as well. Teams are limited to four people sharing one phone, and larger groups split up and race each other. Arnhem drops from the church down towards the water, so there is a climb back up, and with no guide and no fixed start time you can take it at whatever speed the group wants. How to play. Coded notes, photo tasks and digital characters with inconsistent alibis make up the investigation, and the answers are out in the open if you look properly. Some of the trail runs across the Korenmarkt and around the Walburgiskerk, and each solved puzzle takes another suspect off the board. Playing with several teams at once turns it into a competition, which is why it holds up as a teambuilding activity. You can stop for a break and continue afterwards, closing the case somewhere in Arnhem.
