The case is handed to you at the Panteó de Quijano in Alicante, and from there the route works its way through the streets of the old centre. You pass the Cocatedral de Sant Nicolau, cross the shaded Parc Portal d'Elx and come out near Casa Carbonell towards the seafront. It is a murder mystery walking tour, self-guided from the first clue to the last. Alicante is warm for much of the year and the centre stays walkable throughout, though the streets around the market get busy in the late afternoon. A team is up to four people around one phone, and anything larger splits into separate teams that can chase each other. Children, grandparents, work groups and couples all play the same version, and there is no reason not to go out on your own. Nobody meets you at the start and no time slot holds you to a schedule.
